Hi There!
Gratitude check: sunny, quiet mornings that allow me to get my poop in a group before facing the day; moments of calm in the midst of mini-chaos; eagles playing in the up-drafts over the ridge.
That, folks, is a typical example of my gratitude check.
Just a few observations of little things in my world that make me take pause and appreciate this ride that is life.
The practice of writing them keeps me grounded - it is ever-so easy to let the mind spin into the abyss of all that is wrong in this world (and I'm a pro at jumping into the vortex - I have a lifetime of experience, I'll admit!) but....after 40-something years on this rock, I've come to realize that the ONE thing I can control is my attitude. So I make a choice (most days) to find something that is true, and good, and positive in my life, and try to give THAT my attention.
That being said, I most certainly do not sail through my days with wings on my feet and my head in the clouds - I slog through the daily muck like everyone else on this rock, doing the very best I can with what I have. This, right here, right now, is the real deal.
So this blog is going to focus on relentless gratitude, the kind I strive to practice every day. It is real, and honest, and (at times) messy and kinda convoluted. It works for me - I hope you find something in it that works for you, too.
Welcome to the ride!!!
Sandi
